Workshop projects: how we carry them out

Setting up a new workshop, expanding one or reorganising production is something we handle in stages, each with its own quotation. We don’t start the next stage until the previous one is closed and approved.

The stages of a project

1. First consultation

You tell us what you want to do and we ask what we need to know to advise you. Above all, two things: which garments or parts you are going to make and with which materials, and what level of automation you have in mind. A made-to-measure workshop with a lot of handwork is not equipped in the same way as one that will produce runs for other companies and wants to grow.

This first part is free of charge.

2. Site visit, assessment and layout proposal

We visit the premises, look at the space and prepare the layout of the work areas, from pattern making and cutting to pressing and packing. You receive the list of machines, cutting tools, tables and workstations, with quantities and what each one needs for installation: power, compressed air and lighting.

This stage has a fixed price. We send it to you before the visit.

3. Machinery and equipment

Once the layout is approved, we quote the machinery item by item. That way you can see what each workstation costs and decide whether to buy something now or later. If it makes sense to leave space for programmable machines or automatic units that will come later, we take that into account in the plan from the start.

4. Installation, training and first trials

We install the machines and set them up for your material, teach your operators to work with them and run the first production trials with you. The workshop is left working, not just assembled.

What you need to tell us at the start

Apart from what you are going to make and the level of automation, we will ask you for a floor plan or sketch of the premises with measurements and ceiling height, some photos, your electrical supply (single or three-phase, contracted power), whether there is compressed air, how many operators you will have at the start and how many later, the run sizes you expect and the date you want to start production. If you have a budget in mind, that helps a lot.

What we don’t do ourselves

The building work, the activity licence, the electrical installation and its certificate, and the fit-out of office or reception areas have to be handled by a professional in each trade (architect or engineer, licensed electrician…). We give them the technical requirements of the machinery and coordinate with them, but each one is responsible for their own work.

If you prefer, we can also coordinate all that work for you: we talk to each professional, match their deadlines to the arrival of the machinery and keep you informed of progress. You have a single point of contact and each professional remains responsible for their own part.

Prices

For technical work at your premises our rate is €75 per hour. For a complete project we prefer to give a fixed price per stage, which is clearer for both of us. Travel, accommodation and VAT (21 %) are shown separately in each quotation. Stages 3 and 4 can only be priced properly once the layout has been approved.

You always deal with the same person, in meetings, on site visits and by email, in Spanish, German or English.

Tell us about your project

Send us what you have: what you are going to make, a floor plan or some photos of the premises and the date you want to start. With that we will prepare the quotation for the visit and the assessment.
