What is a cycle machine?

A cycle machine sews a programmed cycle of stitches and stops by itself: a buttonhole, a button, a bartack. The operator positions the piece and the machine always performs the same operation, to the same quality, in seconds. That is why these are the machines that most set the pace of a garment production line.

How to choose

For buttonholes you have to decide between lockstitch (301) and chainstitch (401), depending on the garment and fabric. For buttons, the type of button (two or four holes, shank or neck). For bartacks, the size of the reinforcement and the material. In all cases, the number of cycles per day decides whether a programmable electronic machine pays off.
