When a multi-ply cutter pays off

A multi-ply cutter cuts a lay of fabric spread in many plies in one go. It pays off when you repeat the same patterns on long runs: garments, workwear, series upholstery, automotive or technical textiles. If you cut different pieces, samples or prototypes every day, you are probably better off with a single-ply cutter.

What sets each model apart

• TEXCUT: for high lays, up to 100 mm compressed, and cutting speeds of up to 90 m/min. Designed for technical textiles, prepregs, aramids, fibreglass and carbon fibre.
• C1717 / C1722 compact cutters: up to 100 mm compressed, with integrated conveyor and a very small footprint. Suitable for both series and small batches.
• SK25: up to 25 mm compressed, working width of 1.60 or 2.00 m and high-performance vacuum for continuous production.

The cutter is only one part of the cutting room. The result also depends on how the fabric reaches the table, so it is worth looking at the tables and spreaders and the marker making software.
